Digital marketing entrepreneur Susan Hallam has been nominated for two awards in the Nottingham Post Women in Business Awards 2014, following a great year for her business which is already on track to surpass turnover projections for FY14/15.
Hallam, who started her company Hallam in 1999, is up for the Inspirational Woman of the Year Award, whilst the company is nominated as Small Business of the Year. Susan Hallam was the winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year in the Women in Business Awards 2013.
Speaking of the nomination, Susan Hallam said: “I am very pleased to be nominated again this year. Last year, the award ceremony itself was a great chance to network with other successful business people and a great celebration of achievement. And winning the award raise the visibility of our business.
“I was also impressed by the quality and stature of the women who won the awards.”
She added: “The business is growing and we are working with a lot of exciting clients. We had a target to turnover £1m this year and we are now ahead of that target”.
Hallam’s Digital Marketing Manager Laura Hampton, who nominated Susan for the awards, said: “When I started working at Hallam in June 2013, there were six of us in the team. In 15 months, the company has grown to 17 members of staff, delivering digital marketing services to clients including local companies like Experian, Wastecycle and Rutland Cycling, and companies further afield like Huthwaite International, BMW/Mini and Eaton Manor.
“I nominated Susan for the Inspiration Woman of the Year award as she exemplifies what it means to be a successful woman in business today. She is a force to be reckoned with and has achieved huge successes in terms of new client wins and business growth, whilst her company has retained a small business feel thanks to touches like the Friday team lunch and Monday cake days.”
Susan Hallam and Hallam are amongst a number of businesses in the Nottinghamshire area to be nominated in the Women in Business Awards, the results of which will be announced at the awards ceremony in November. Her nomination was documented in the Nottingham Post on the 17th October 2014:
